I believe the promo version contained a couple minutes more of instrumental music than the LP version.

Hello everybody,
The song «The glow of love» by Change (1980) is 6:11 on the album and 8:21 on a promo 12". I never heard this particular version : it is really different or it's just a misprint on the label? I don't own the 12" (PRO-A 914, Warner/RFC) so I can't tell. Anybody could help me ?
Thank you
Pierre

I have this 12". 'The glow of love' is stated as 'long version' at 8'21. It is exactly the same as the 6'00+ LP version!!!!!
Incidentally, a reissue of 'the glow of love' was released on cd in Italy in a 5cd boxset of Change's albums which has an extended version of 'angel in my pocket' at 7'10. (More great, punchy electronics!!!)
Thank you, that is what I thought because I never heard a longer version than the 6:11. On the new Luther Vandross box set, «Love, Luther», there is a picture of the label of this 12" but of course the song on the cd is the lp version.
Thanks too for the «Angel in my pocket» remix info. What is the reference of the cd, please?
Pierre
Re Change 5CD box set. If you're a Change fan and don't have all of their albums, I highly recommend getting it!!!!!
Italian label: Fonte Records (FTE BOX 02) Dist by Deltadischi.

Hope this helps.
Thank you. It's a great collection. Too bad many bonus tracks are only 7" edits and it doesn't feature the 7:37 version of «Oh what a night» (only available on the original vinyl 12" I think). And why the box set doesn't include the six albums of the group ? The 1984 album is missing, the one with «Change of heart». Sometimes it's hard to understand what is in the mind of the man who picked up the tracks and released the set... Thanks for the info anyway :)
