Like Obama, Huckabee has a name problem.
Over the last days I've been reading some articles about the "other" candidates for the American Presidency.
Now, I already knew Obama, Clinton, Giuliani, McCain and what they stand for but here I was reading about the people that until' now are not so well known over here.
That's how I got informed on Mike Huckabee. I know he's a Baptist Minister, former Governor of Arkansas and on the vids that I saw he seems to be a nice, intelligent and moderate man.
Like Obama, Huckabee has a name problem.

Find them and destroy them!
He's affable, speaks well, he was a preacher...but is a dangerous NUTJOB.!!!!!
Does not believe in EVOLUTION...asked for all AIDS cases to be QUARANTINED--- in 1992!!![when it was common knowledge how the virus was transmitted--NOT THROUGH CASUAL CONTACT!!!]....let a convicted murderer/rapist out of jail to please his right-wing Clinton hater pals...and the parolee murdered two more women!!!
He's had a free ride so far...but now the heat is on him. People are asking questions and he will self-implode--except for support of the fundamentalist right-wing Christian wackos--who can't get behind any of the other FLAWED Repugs running for President. They need that pretense of HOLY in their PRES!!! Didn't we just go through 7 years of HELL with the current dry-drunk HOLY-ROLLER pretender????
from joe.my.god. blogspot:
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee yesterday refused to recant his 1992 call for AIDS patients to be quarantined, saying "I still believe this today, that we were acting more out of political correctness. I don't run from it, I don't recant it."
In 1992, Huckabee said, "It is the first time in the history of civilization in which the carriers of a genuine plague have not been isolated from the general population, and in which this deadly disease for which there is no cure is being treated as a civil rights issue instead of the true health crisis it represents."
Yesterday Huckabee that he had not been calling for a quarantine, but could not state how "isolation" could otherwise be achieved. Huckabee's 1992 Associated Press questionnaire also says that he finds homosexuality "an aberrant, unnatural, and sinful lifestyle."
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Yes, Marky, after reading your reply, I looked it up and there's a lot of articles on that statement.
But on the religious side? In the same article that I read a few days ago and that mentioned Huckabee's candidacy, they also said that Democrats too are gearing up to get the Christian votes, so I don't think that he's the only candidate who has a strict religious background.
Wasn't there an actor who will try to get the nomination and who's extreme-rightwing?
The actor is Fred Thompson from "Law & Order"--who has turned out to be a lazy sloth--big disappointment for the Repugs... ALL the other Repug candidates are FLAWED with the morality questions [Giuliani] odd religions [Romney], doesn't hate Mexicans enough [McCain] and. thus, don't pass the Christian conservative taste test...Huckabee is their best bet.....but he's gonna scare the general population after they dig a little deeper into his beliefs. :icon_lol:

Interesting poll that's published in our papers today:
Republicans:
Giuliani 24%
Huckabee 22 % (!)
Romney 16 %
McCain 13 %
Democrats:
Clinton 40%
Obama 30%
Edwards 13%
And then the battles (if the elections were held today)
Clinton-Giuliani: 51-45
Clinton-Romney: 54-43
Clinton-Huckabee: 54-44
Clinton-McCain: 48-50
Obama-Giuliani: 52-45
Obama-Romney: 54-41
Obama-Huckabee: 55-40
Obama-McCain: 48-48
Edwards-Giuliani: 53-44
Edwards-Roney: 59-37
Edwards-Huckabee: 60-35
Edwards-McCain: 52-44
Personally, I would vote for Bernard F. Lopez, candidate for the Disco Party.
I think I'll be sitting this one out...![]()
What happened to Kucinich and Ron Paul in those polls? Yeah I know, I'm just asking rhetorically.
Interesting to note that in those polls, Edwards beats all repub challengers.
Find them and destroy them!
Paul, this is a poll published in our papers (Belgian). They just took the politicians that we know and follow. Probably the poll was more detailed in the US itself.
We don't really know Kucinich and Paul over here. I mean Paul, the politician.
Of course we all know the San Diegan hunk of the Discoboard here. He's usually described as the Trans Am Lover.
no, not the candidate, but the film directed by David O. Russell. I recommend it. you will rave for Isabelle Huppert's therapy method! :icon_cool:
about that guy Huckabee, I don't see the problem. I checked him on Fox News and they said he was OK.

Looks like Iowa has voted for Huckabee (Rep) and Obama (Dem). But are the Iowans(?) really Kingmakers?

Wonder what the people of New Hampshire are going to decide. In our press there are reports that Clinton is going to leave the race if Obama has a big victory 2nite.
