What artists would have collobarated fantastically but never did?

    Hey,

This is a thread committed to a bit of pure specualtion, namely, to entertain notions of possible collobarations between artists....

    How about Cerrone and Giorgio?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts and possible collaborations!

    Peace and love

A duet between Ms Lolleatta Holloway and Mr Solomon Burke would've been fireworks material- both have BIG, BIG churchy, commanding voices. (Anyone who's heard Solomon's "Sidewalks, Fences, and Walls" LP from 1979 would agree (an undiscovered gem, IMHO))

Dusty Springfield should've got together with Giorgio Moroder or Quincy Jones in the late 70s/ early 80s IMO. (to make music I mean!)

hmmm what about something unbelievably far fetched like Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand sharing a Paul Jabara song together ....
    oh ..wait ....:icon_mrgreen:

Hard to top that one but how about :

... Sylvester vamping with somebody . For instance I think he and Patti Labelle would've had a good time sharing notes.... maybe produced by Bob Gaudio/Bob Crewe ... to get that Frankie Valli "SOUL" sound.

and what about Donna Summer and Diana Ross together under one roof . :icon_eek: (I FEEL UPSIDE DOWN FROM A LOVE HANGOVER) Maybe under the full throttle guidance of Dan Hartman !

Finally the creme de la creme:
Boney M and ABBA together at last , produced, of course, by Barry Gibb .

How about Barry White's seductive voice raised to the power of the Poussez girls, in a very long Hi-Nrg song? It would be beary poossyish!

Slowly or fast, same might, Sylvester + Donna = Dynamite.

Hope I won't get a minus for mention him, but I would like to hear Andy Gibb and Cheryl Lynn in a very soft, sweet and inviting song.

It's hard for me to imagine groups together. So any guess?

Donna Summer produced by Alec Costandinos.
Producing a concept album [a la Romeo & Juliet].
How about Donna's supposed adaptation of SWAN LAKE set to a disco beat.

    howzabout:

Teri DeSario covering "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad", Meatloaf's song...
I've always wondered what would've happened if Jim Steinman, the producer/composer, "went disco"...BIG, epic, 20-minute operatic productions that would've outdone Costandinos et al...using Donna Summer on vocals...mmm!

What about a collaboration between Miss Diana Ross and Mr. Thom Bell, merging Motown with Philly????

I would love to hear what Mr. Bell would do with Miss Ross...she recorded some of his material in the Marvin Gaye duets sessions...but I'm expecting GREAT things like he did in LPs for Dionne Warwick ("Year Of The Cat"), Deniece Williams ("Silly," etc.) & Phyllis Hyman ("Just 25 Miles To Anywhere," etc.)...

How about Linda Clifford and Jessica Williams remaking the Linda's disco hit of "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

Silver Convention and Boney M. Campy, kitchy and OTT.

Here's a real wacky one - Ethel Merman and Esther Williams singing disco songs together.

Earlene Bentley and Evelyn Thomas two HiNRG diva's together.

according to album liner notes, the two artists I have in mind (Sylvester and Aretha Franklin) actually did record together on Franklin's album "Who's Zoomin' Who?" but I can't hear Syl because he's part of a chorus and the production is so thick. I would have liked to have heard them do a full fledged duet, I bet that would have been dynamite. Sylvester and Loleatta Holloway could have probably produced a lot of sparks, too.

Narada Michael Walden (who produced the WZW LP) often used Sylvester in his lineup of backing singers in the mid-80s.
