I hear theres a limited vinyl box set of this. anyone else hear about it?
This collection is a rare case where I actually prefer most of the remixes to the originals! :icon_eek:

I spent my money and got a download just because I HAD to have it NOW - but I;ve ordered the actual CDs as well.
When we used to hear Ashford and Simpson over the speakers in the 70's
at a club it just sounded special. It managed to be soulful, classy and danceable all at once.
So I just got this in the mail and am overwhelmed at the wealth of classics on this.I've been lucky in my record search to find all the original 12"s except "One More Try"(not that lucky)and "Over and Over" so I knew what the quality would be like of disc one. What I'm blown away by is the second disc of remixes and re edits.Tom Moulton,Dimitry,Joe Claussell all turn in thoughtful, tasteful work.I was pleasantly surprised with the updated "house" reworkings of the M&M team(especially "Tried,Tested and Found True")I usually despise these things but this really works for me.Essential.

Got mine today too. It's so fantastic to finally have Over & Over + One more try 12"s as I have all the others too. Just wondered why they omitted the Jimmy Simpson 12" of Flashback. I have that on a UK WB 12" and really love that song, so full of drama!
Excellent cd and excellent remixes. Just one question: is «One more try» 12" version (the one on the cd) different from the lp version available on «Come as you are»? I don't own this particular album so I can't check it out. Thank you.
The packaging is lovely & sound quality excellent & I love the extended versions of 'It Seems To Hang On' & 'Dont Cost You Nothing', even the remixes on disc 2 are fab & tastefully done. The only quibble I can come up with is that the '12" disco mix' of 'Love Dont Make It Right' on disc 1 sounds the same as the LP version. & I agree with zef about 'Flashback'; why does this brilliant track never make it onto CD compilations?

...ya gotta beat the street......
I finally got this as well, and I'll agree about the sound quality...for the most part...though I gotta say I was almost put off by Track 1.
"Over and Over (12" Mix)" is possibly the worst needledrop I've ever heard mastered on CD. They obviously couldn't locate the master tape, and went with what must have been a noisy vinyl copy, because this is no-noised and EQ'd to DEATH.They could have, or should have, located a better copy.
But after that, the quality ramps up, and the music can't be argued with.
And this might be the best CD of remixes I've ever bought. I love when remixers go it the classic way and don't attempt to add any new loops or synths or synth-drums to the original tracks. There are a couple like that on there, but the bulk of them are not and they are sweet.
1- Is «One more try» 12" version (the one on the cd) different from the lp version available on «Come as you are»? I don't own this particular album so I can't check it out.
2- More remixes are available or all of them are on the second cd ?
Thank you.
[EDIT: I'm home now and see I actually do have the LP; I forgot I found it!!!
"One More Try" is 3:26 on LP/ 5:09 on 12" promo]
This is a terrific compilation! I'm pretty sure that "One More Try" was remixed for the 12"...so I'd say it's different from the LP version...hard to find, either way.
The second cd in this package is all remixes and very excellent in quality...some, in fact, are superior to the original 12" mixes. :icon_biggrin:
Especially Tom Moulton's new mix on "Found A Cure"---classic Moulton touch with that instrumental opening delaying the start of the vocal quite a bit from the the original...just PERFECT!!![Similar to the way he remixed Eddie Holman's "This Will Be a Night To Remember" 12" or extended the The O'Jay's "Love Train" on "Philadelphia Classics" ...a total runthrough of the verse as an instrumental only before the vocal is mixed in.]
