I wish I could go..I have always loved Angela.
I didnt know she was ill untill Melba Moore told me..
My thoughts are with her in her time of need..........:icon_cry:
Just heard about this San Francisco concert from David Nathan. It's being done by the great Narada Michael Walden at the Grace Cathedral so if you are in the bay area you should get down there & support this fabulous diva in her hour of need.:icon_cry: (I wish I was there). Apparently all the profits from her Arista CD sales are going directly to her to help with her terrible illness, and 'Too Tough' & 'Teaser' are being re-issued in the new year with additional tracks.![]()
...ya gotta beat the street......
Narada Michael Walden was being interviewed about this concert to help Angela the other day. You could hear the love in his voice! He was able to get a whole spectrum of artists to perform such as Bonnie Raitt and Carlos Santana. In case you don't know, Angela had two strokes. I believe they said she's partially paralyzed. She has to have assisted care but she's making progress towards getting well. The major problem is that she doesn't have any health insurance!! So Narada is stepping in to help.
Angela is hoping to be at the concert!
Expansion records issued a 45 with two unreleased Arista tracks by Angela earlier this year, the fantastic All The Reasons Why b/w Love & Marriage.
Both tracks are on David Nathan's forthcoming compilation 'Dedicated to Soul' which has some other tasty things too.... but so nice to have it on a 45 and she gets some royalties as writer.
All my thoughts with Angie ...
Incredible performance from around the early 80's :
