Question about American Graffitti Soundtrack

I was wondering what song it was when in the movie it shows the cars driving down the road in the twilight, dusk time of day. Right before the race. It's an instrumental part that is played. I've been dying to know what song that is; Interesting that in 1973, there was nostalgia for 60's music but in the 80's there was none for disco; I think people had become too propagandized and didn't care what they themselves thought.
