I was amazed at how 'clean' the mix sounded, even for one taken directly from the mixing desk onto quarter inch tape (that's now 27 years old).
Am I the only one?

I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more feedback (good or bad) on this mix. Usually when you post something Troc related people come out of the woodwork.
Bobby Viteritti just emailed me and yes this is his work. He asked me my opinion if he should contact the site. I don't think he's too happy that it wad posted there without his permission. Here is a link to his site and you can see what he's been up to recently.

I downloaded this last night--but it was too late to listen to it. :icon_rolleyes::icon_redface:
I'm halfway through now---it sure sounds like Trocadero in 1980.....Viteritti certainly played those records...can't really verify if it's him spinning that night..."Call Me Tonight" was his signature tune though....sounds good to me....not the most distinguished list of records :icon_twisted::icon_rolleyes:--but they were popular then...so ya played 'em... he liked the "rockish" records with the snarling guitars and the dance beat...so the Sabu track seems like a Viteritti pick....
Keefe has a better ear for who was actually spinning than I do....so although I'm thinking it is Viteritti...I'd defer to his opinion....
afterthought:
Oh...I see while I've been listening...it's been verified!!!
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I downloaded it last night as well.
This mix was well done, and I happen to like the rock influences in the song selections. "Quiet Village" mixed into the break of "Super Sweet" was great, and Sylvia Love's "Instant Love" and Vera's "Take Me To The Bridge" I am hearing for the first time, along with Erotic Drum Band's "Pop Pop Shoo Wah", Dive Grey & The Oyster Band's "Hotel Paradise" and Persia's "Inch By Inch"!
To think I was only five years old when this mix was happening live....
"Everyone knows the real reason why you got that part it was the time you spent on that casting couch"--Antoine Merriwether
"Excuse me, Miss Thing, but both of us spent time on that couch"--Blaine Edwards
Final verdict: It's a keeper!!! :icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:
Question: why didn't they note the final track after Sylvia Love???: "Lust" by Rinder & Lewis :icon_exclaim::icon_exclaim::icon_exclaim:
Correction: it's Wardell Piper...not Wadrell Piper!!!:icon_eek:

I don't want to open a can of worms here but even though it might not be copyrighted He is the one who made it. Even though each individual song was not composed by him, he as the artist (DJ) who put it together which in itself in my opinion makes him the sole owner of it and it's up to him if he wants to put it on the net for free or sell it for profit.

JOL: as well-intended and honourable as your opinion seems, it is, when seen within today's social climate, very naive.
Naive it may be. It's still the law as such, that he has some claim over the intellectual rights to the property (the mix).
But, unless he's paid copyright fees to all the owners of the recorded works involved....his copyright is out of the window, 'cos what he did (in making copies onto reel to reel tapes) would have been totally against the law (at the time).
However, if this had been previously released as a commercial product with all the copyright fees paid to the respective parties....sue the website's asses!!!
