Does Third World's version of "Now that we've found love" count? I also like "Living in the frontline" by Eddy Grant. It was a huuuge hit in Argentina back in 1980. We even had Eddy coming to do a concert, in which he invited then-young football promise Diego Maradona to sing onstage! And he did :o
Now that I think of it, maybe it was then that Diego had his first taste of "ganja"...
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

Definitely "Now That We Found Love" by Third World; Also, "Buck-In-Hamm Palace" by Peter Tosh. Both were played a lot at Trocadero in SF.
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

Strange thing but I didn't play an awful lot of reggae in the true disco era, even though it had a strong fan base in the UK.
Bob Marley- Jammin' was a good 'un, Third World, Sly & Robbie and a few others I just can't remember.
However, I along with most other jocks played an awful lot of reggae around 1969-1971 and before that we all loved some Ska back in the mid sixties. Now that was great good time dance music.

    HAAAAA, Disco-reggea,
    one of my favorites!
I really like those dubbed out downtempo disco-reggae riddims.
Ofcourse the masters in disco-reggae are SLY and ROBBIE!
With tracks like: Make a move/ Boops, but especially DON'T STOP THE MUSIC! fantastic track that is!
But they also produced GWEN GUTHRIE's better songs: PEANUT BUTTER, PADLOCK, HOPSCOTCH....

    and theres more disco-reggae like:
MONYAKA - GO DEH YAKA (go to the top) 1983, an Errol Moore production
Also, i like the reggae influenced dub mixes that larry levan made! deep bass and lot's of reverbs! fantastic!

Also check out the fantastic album Hustle: Reggae Disco: Kingston, London, New York out now on Souljazz records.
Soul Jazz Records brings you classic Disco reggae style! From the nightclubs of New York to the dancefloors of Kingston and London!. Reggae versions of classic disco tracks like: Anita Ward's "Ring My Bell", Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman", Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough", Jean Carn's "Don't Let It Go To Your Head", The Whisper's "And The Beat Goes On" , Sugarhill Gang "Rapper's Delight", Diana Ross "Upside Down", and William De Vaughn's "Be Thankful". As Lovers Rock and Rare Groove met in London in the 1980s, these disco reggae tracks are mix of UK artists such as the Blood Sisters, Carol Cool, Family Choice and Black Harmony and Jamaican artists and DJs such as Kingston's Derrick Laro and Trinity, Xanadu and Sweet Lady.
    Tracklisting:
    1. Blood Sisters - Ring My Bell
    2. Derrick Laro and Trinity - Don't Stop Till You Get enough
    3. Latisha - I'm Every Woman
    4. Black Harmony - Don't Let It Go To Your Head
    5. Family Choice - Reggae Beat Goes On
    6. Xanadu & Sweet Lady - Rapper's Delight
    7. Carol Cool - Upside Down
    8. One Blood - Be Thankful

One of my favourites was when erstwhile reggae outfit The Cool Notes went funky in 1985 with "Never To Young". That was massive in London ....

    :D
If it moves - funk it!!
