70's instrumental similar to Tubular bells

Back in the mid 70's I used to go to an afterhours club. Around 3 or 4ish in the morning when things died down, they would almost always play an instrumental very similar to Michael Oldfields Tubular bells, with a short, repeating theme that grew louder and more intense(but with out a voice like tubular bells )
It is similar to a disco version of Revells Bazarro.
I asked a dj once what it was and all he could help with was something similar to Kieberkick or Octoberfest
Its 30 years later and the melody still haunts me.
Who can help out with what the song or group could be.
    Thanx

Revells Bazarro? Do you mean Ravel's Bolero?

If so, it would probably be Kebekelektrik - Bolero. Could also be Tomita's version, but if it was being played in a club it would more likely have been the Kebekelektrik version.

Vangelis had a track similar to Tubular Bells that intensified as it went along called i think, 'Pulstar' but it wasn't really club music.

True, but there were a couple of club-oriented covers of it.

Ill go out on a limb here and just throw this in the thread:

    Ozo's Anambra?

I used to play it mixed with the remix of Love is "still" Blue.

Well, even if it's not the one, you still get a great album :icon_biggrin:

Re: 70's instrumental similar to Tubular bells

Hello, I am trying to find a piece of music that was popular in the 70's and it was also used in a commercial that was for a plastic baggie that could be microwaved. the commercial showed a sealed plastic bag with a chunk of ice that is put into a microwave and boiled. I guess showing the durability of the bag. The camera was close on the window of the microwave showing the water bubbling inside the baggie while a tubular bells-ish piece of music played. It was a very haunting piece of music that was also played on the radio and clearly Tubular bells inspired. It was not
Kebekelectric or Pulstar. just wondered if anyone remembers this.
    thanks
    brian
