    Question Camp N°1: André Brasseur!

Does anybody here know him? The Belgian champ of hot keyboard dance tunes? The composer of unforgettable instrumentals?
André is still alive and kickin, owns a fancy restaurant in Belgium where he still performs. Great guy!

Theres something about the titles being switched by mistake for 'The Kid/ Holiday' so one is actually the other if that makes sense... anyway the track entitled 'The Kid' was a Northern Soul dancefloor hit.. it's that stomp stomp 'Tango' rhythm that does it.
    I have 'Early Bird Satellite' on a 45 !

Skoots, do you ever come across the music played on the Belgian 'Popcorn' scene on your travels..thats a fascinating one !

i remember that story too but the way they ended up i think the kid suits the title more than it would have as holiday, the kid was a twisted wheel record, but both sides were 'massive' youth club records in the early 70s gaining the record a reissue at that time, im late for work as usual so i cant wait to come home and play videoskooters vids:icon_mrgreen:, i could never tire of the kid

Holiday is one of those records that was used to talk over or as a show intro by radio DJs BITD. Just like Touch of Velvet, Sting of Brass by Mood Mosaic (also played on the Northern Soul scene).

Must say that I find the Tango laden 'The Kid' rather strange and on his own website this is the track that's labelled as 'Holiday' in the 'listen' section. Confused???

If you click on the link of his official site, you will be able to hear samples of all his hits, that'll take away the confusion coz' there's the right info. Sorry, I overlooked the YT title!

Popcorn is indeed a Belgian thang! There were a lot of clubs I frequented and that were specialised in it. A famous one was "JJ More's" in Zandhoven/Belgium. But there still are clubs (we call it dancings here) that play it or have theme nights. I'm a fan, you know, it usually is a more adult public (40-?) and the atmosphere at those parties and clubs is great: people are dancing with each other, people are having fun and there's a warm feelingall over the place.

    And some more André stuff:
