Hello Everyone,
just came across a great version of DC Larue's Cathedrals which is not by DC LArue (excuse my ignorance if he wasnt the original). it has a slower feel with female vocal, and perhaps its even better imho. here is the mix its from, not going to ask you to trawl through the mix just to help me but if you like the look of the tracklisting any help would be appreciated.

Pat Lundy was on the same label as D.C. Larue; Pyramid.
And had recorded a version of Day By Day.

I just found this on Gemm.
Pat Lundy Vinyl Records for Sale - Cathedrals LP
Does this solve the riddle?
Sorry. The Gemm listing is incorrect. It actually refers to the same 12 inch as is in discomusic.com's vault.
However, you can check out Pat Lundy's voice on this ebay listing.
