Bravo! That was an unbelievable find! Was that a once in a lifetime sale? or might that be a re occurring event for that establishment:icon_cool:
Well Done.
I bought: "Where is My Man?", "So Many Men, So Little Time". Love and Kisses' "You Must Be Love" (12 inch) and Alec Costandinos' "Winds of Change", Limahl's "The Never Ending Story" 12 inch..the "Bionic Boogie" album. Nile Rodgers' "B Movie Matinee, D.C. Larue's "Confessions",
Eclipse's "Night and Day", Stargard's "The Changing of the Gard", CJ and Company's "Deadeye Dick", "Paradise Express", Thelma Houston's "The Devil In Me", "Come on Dance Dance" by the Saturday Night Band. "Take the A Train", Tuxedo Junction, "Ain't Love Grand" by Hott City. "Together" by Sister Sledge (produced by the Silver Convention producers) and probably the most unusual purchase in this group: "Love at First Bite" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, produced by the "Midnight Rhythm" production team.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
only one dollar?
a college radio station in San Francisco (KUSF) hosts a "Record Collector's convention a.k.a. "Rock 'N' Swap" 3 times a year, this year, October 14th, January 13th and March 16th (next year). It's a group of oh-so-hip- it hurts people who take their record collections and try to sell some items. Elvis, the Beatles and alternative music artists seem to be the big attractions. Being the skinflint that I am, I only look through the $1.00 bargain bins, and one seller had about 5 boxes of mostly disco albums and 12 inch remix records. I picked out about 3 that I had to have, and then asked the price. When the seller said they were 10 for a dollar, my eyes got big and my blood pressure rose. I picked several that I hadn't actually heard but felt might be good or possibly have a high resale value, but there were many other great titles that I already owned (Debbie Jacobs, Sylvester, Dan Hartman and others). I probably would have bought even more but I was limited on the amount I could carry on my motorcycle. Bargains like this don't come along very often. And while we're on this subject, would you believe that some annoying people in my area have started buying disco records that have been sitting in the bargain bins at the used record stores for YEARS, including old Diana Ross, Village People and Donna Summer records that sat in the bins so long the covers had solid dust on them. And if you live in or near any major city, I'm sure these conventions are held in your area, too. Look through the magazine called "Record Convention News" (I think that's the title though I've thrown out my current copy).
Its funny in San Francisco where people tend to know the value of records, you can still come up. I loved when an old jukebox repair shop on 20th and Mission sold all of its old 45s for 5 cents each!!! All good condition as they were only played in jukeboxes. I found all kinds of stuff, including stuff like the Meters and other harder stuff. Lets just say I was passing out Zapp 45s to friends for a few years;)
It sounds like you really made out ol'skinflint. Of course, the question is what kind of condition were the records in??
