Cool Spreadsheets for Top 500 & DJ Top 700 Charts

Recently I joined Discomusic forum and I felt a real desire to have a Disco database so that I could do searches and sort the information according to my needs. That's why I converted TOP 500 DISCO CHART (2nd revised ed.) and 700 DJ CERTIFIED TOP DISCO DANCE SONGS in an Excel spreadsheet format (.xls). The original charts belong to Discomusic.com and you can find them at http://www.discomusic.com/charts.

I want to share these spreadsheets with all members. The databases are sorted initially by Artist field. I cleaned the information as much as possible in order to unify names and fill blank, wrong or misspelled data. To facilitate alphabetic classification most Artist names that are spelled with periods, e.g. C.J. & Co. or L.A.X., were entered firstly without periods or spaces between letters, and then with periods in parentheses.

There are three files, choose the one you like the most and organize your database as you please. In the file "TOP 500 and 700" I combined the two databases and you can see clearly the differences in the rank position of the songs.

I hope this information will be helpful for some (or many!). And it will be wonderful if we continue debugging the information. For example, in TOP 700 the song 515 was written "Get The Cream On Top" but it's "Off", and the unknown song 577 seems to have an unsolved problem in its name: Stars On Band - (We Just Love You) Beautiful People.

Nevertheless, if you only have negative comments, or if you are dissatisfied and want to ask for more, please create your own thread and database. Nothing personal.

Enjoy!!! ˇGózatela! (Spanish is my native language.)

    Final Database

I have cleaned the database with the two charts and it will be available during this month.

In the Artist field, names in parentheses indicate an alternative name, and additional information is shown in brackets. Periods in the first word of an artist name were deleted to facilitate the alphabetical classification, except in the case of T.S. Monk and Dr. Buzzard.

Hi Teddybear, any chance you could repost the final version in xls or xlsx? Thanks, Dave
