Love Has No Time or Place
Nicky
Nicky, it was Eva Gabor with Eddie Albert. I loved that show, especially the theme song!
NICKY/KEEFELC what good memories you both have ! i really enjoyed seeing that yesterday especially as it was the first time ive seen it in color, another question WAS it a spin off from petticoat junction as a lot of the cast from that were in this especially one woman that seemed to be in everything around this time i think she was also PEARL in the beverley hillbillies !
Hey DiscoDisk,
Can't tell you if it was a spin-off from Petticoat Junction because that show never worked for me. Green Acres to me was hilarious because I could relate to someone from the city making a jackass of himself in the country. That would have been me all over  . I was definitely a "city boy". 8)
no sweat nicky its not that important! ive seen quite a few now as its on every day and realise it probibly isnt a spin off as those petticoat actors havnt appeared again,im really hooked on this now in the mornings and i go home saturday sos i only have tomorrows episode to go agghhh !!!
Green Acres and Petticoat Junction were spinoffs from The Beverly Hillbillies, back in the 60's when CBS stood for "Country Bumpkin Station".
The woman in question from PJ is Bea Benederet, who also played an entirely different character on The Beverly Hillbillies.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]"I can see Prussia from my house!". :icon_mrgreen:
WOW! :D These are some of my favorites. Everyones right {of course} about the song being from "Green Acres".
None of these shows really aren't spin offs from one another.
"Beverly Hillbillies" - Sep. 26, 1962 thru Sep. 7, 1971 was the first show to appear. "Petticoat Junction" - Sep. 24, 1963 thru Sep. 12, 1970 was the second with Bea Benaderet leaving the Hillbillies "Cousin Pearl Bodine" role to do Kate Bradley. Then "Green Acres" Sep. 15, 1965 thru Sep. 7, 1971. "Beverly hillbillies" was so popular CBS wanted Paul Henning, who produced it, to give them some more rural comedies, so he came up with the other two. Some of the actors do cross over to their sister shows for guest spots, but none of the shows spun from one another.
I got one...In one of the "Green Acres" episodes...why were the eggs square? :P

wow bobbchap you know your t.v is all that from memory or a book? its interesting to see how long those series lasted the beverley hillbillies i can believe but the other two didnt seem to last that long or more likely we just didnt didnt see them all here.america in the 60s just made the best t.v [with the exception of the avengers of course] others i would love to see again are my favourite martian, gilligans island [as i really dont remember much about it at all except the theme] and my all time favourite episode of the munsters "the monster in the park" the one where herman cant sleep at night so he keeps going for a walk in the park, its all over the papers theres a monster in the park, lilly says to herman i dont want you to walk in the park anymore as theres a monster there!herman says honey ill be just fine and off he goes,he passes a house with a girl in the window with pig tails, she sees him and screams and screams and the pigtails go erect upwards!herman just strolls by going he he he!what a hoot  country bumpkin t.v did it for me!
thanks for beas name boodikka shes just one of many american actors/actresses from this era that we know their faces from many things but we dont really know their names at all
Hey DISCODISK,
I wish it was all by memory....I do remember watching these shows for I grew up in the 60's. You're right, the 60's TV was so good. I do collect anything I can get my hands on pertaining to old TV shows, books, vedios, etc. etc. I LOVE the sixties TV. I call it the "EXPERIMENTAL ERA" for TV. They tried everything from Nuns that fly, talking horses, cars with reincarnated mothers, and my favorite, "BEWITCHED", soooo many strange shows, but they were fun. I love the MUNSTERS also. That show you're talking about is called "WALK ON THE WILD SIDE" aired Oct. 8th 1964 at 7:30 on CBS on a Thursday night. Also on that night at the same time were ABC - THE FLINTSTONES: "Pebble's Birthday Party" and on NBC was DANIEL BOONE: "My brother's keeper" :D :D :D
Sorry I got carried away, also as you can tell I love OLD TV guides. :D Bea Benaderet is one of my favorites from the 50's and 60's. She was a true talent.

I'm chuckling reading about Bea Benaderet cause her son Jack Bannon is a client and just happened to drop in today. Jack was on "Lou Grant" and is semi-retired in Idaho now, married to another long-time client, Ellen Travolta, John's sister, who was on "Charles In Charge" & Joanie Loves Chacihi".Originally Written by bobbchap
Small world, isn't it??? :D
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Hey markydefad,
WOW! Mr. Bannon is a client you know?? That's way cool.
Let him know that his mother is not forgotten, and as far as I'm concern she's was one of the greatest TV actresses.
Just for anybody who doesn't know she was Blanche Morton on "THE BURNS AND ALLEN SHOW", Pearl Bodine on "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES", the voice of Betty Rubble on the first few years of "THE FLINTSTONES" and of course Kate Bradley on "PETTICOAT JUNCTION". And her son Jack made his television debut on "Petticoat Junction" as Bobbie Jo's blind date on Nov. 12, 1963 in a episode called "Kate's recipe for hot rhubarb" :) :) :D Just some fun info...I'm babbling again.....
