I am hoping that someone can help me. There is a disco song that contained any or all of the following words: Superman-man-man, we love you Superman-man-man......Or something similiar to those words. If anyone can help me to identify this song title and artist, I would be forever grateful and you would help to ease my mind and not think that I made this up in my head......
Thank you!
I think you are refferring to "Superman" by CELI BEE & THE BUZZY BUNCH, out on TK records in 1977
That must be it Giovanni. While we are with Superman, I've have this before without a reply, it's a disco track from 1977-78, male voice through vocoder saying "Superman", I can't recall lyrics, but it is definitely a different song from CeliBee or other versions.
Hi Disco1999,Originally Written by disco1999
I remember you asking for this. Did you ever get a chance to check out "Thrill Me (With Your Super Love)" by The Wonderland Band on Roadshow Records? It's from 1979 but it sounds like what you want. The album version has a four-beat intro immediately followed by a male voice through a vocoder saying "Superman". He repeats it four times before the background singers come in with their staccato "Give-it-to-me-gotta-gotta-gotta-get-it-give-it-to-me, Superman". The vocoder is prevalent throughout the song (credited to Michael J. Boddicker). Maybe this is the one. :)

Nick,
I think you got it!!
By the way, on the LP, "Thrill me....." is included in a medley with the other classic "Superman" version by the Wonderland Band.
In the same album check for the instrumental break of "Paradise Island"
Hi Giovanni,Originally Written by Giovanni
I have always liked this album and was playing it yesterday as I responded to 'disco1999'. "Paradise Island" was BIG in the clubs over here. Now I'll go back and check out that break you're talking about. Do you have the 12"? There are instrumental and vocal versions. LOVE IT! If I remember (I didn't look for it yesterday), they also 12"d "Thrill Me...", but the label is slightly different. 'RS International' instead of Roadshow. I know there's a few more beats in the beginning before the vocoder comes in.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have only the 12" of "Superman" b/w "Thril me..." on RSI (by the way, I found I have 4 copies!!!). Didn't know there was a 12" of "Paradise Island". Now I'm gonna hunt it since I 've always loved it from the break on, and now I know there's an instrumental......
Here's some info that might help:Originally Written by Giovanni

My copy is a promo so there is the possibility this wasn't released commercially. The label has a copyright date of 1978 by Roadshow and a 1979 date by RCA for distribution.
