Oh ....so maybe they were referring to CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC ??
..... wasn't the first, though :icon_confused: .......
For some reason I was picturing a disaster movie as in "disaster movie" ..... Like TOWERING INFERNO or UPSIDE DOWN ADVENTURE .
Stuck in a Miami disco in the middle of a hurricane ? An LA one during an earthquake? One in Kansas City during a swarm of locusts ??
What would be a disco disaster movie ???
???

It can't be Can't Stop The Music because that movie came out in 1980, and the Penthouse issue is from 2 years earlier.
Yeah, my impression of the wording is that they meant something involving disco music and a catastrophe, like Disco Poseiden Adventure or Boogie Towering Inferno.

Ok.
Disco Demolition
Yes, should have thought of, ehmmm, just guessing
Avalanche (1978) - IMDb user comments
The Swarm (1978)
And You Call Yourself a Scientist! - The Bees (1978)
City on Fire Review (1978)
Beyond the Poseidon Adventure (1979)
Meteor (1979)
BTW, here are all the 1978 issues, but not a clue about the movie but I would go for the Donna issue:
Penthouse Magazine 1978 back issues and used magazines for sale at USEDmagazines.com.

I just did a bit of Googling. It seems the full title of the article in question, on page 156, is:
"SILVA MIRRORS. A DISCO DISASTER
Satire by Tom Eyen"
Penthouse Magazine BackIssues Archived Back Issues for Collectors
