This is perhaps a difficult thread to contribute to.My brother,a disco ''virgin'',came to visit me while i was playing some italo disco and he promptly described the tracks as ''porno music''.
YouTube - Jules - I want to...
He wasn't entirely wrong as many italo/eurodisco songs do appear in adult movies. Here's a few:
Jules-I want to
Easy Going-Fear
Bob Salton-Starknight
S.P. Clan-Get down(on love)
Katmandu-The break (not really an italo/euro song)
Hypnosis-Droid (not entirely sure about this one'but i think it's in Splash-Memories of summer)
Any more songs to add to the list?
A difficult thread indeed. There are so many Italo tracks that could have been used as background music in adult movies. No fear, I won't list them here, but here's what sprang to mind when I read your post. Does anyone remember this track from the early nineties?
YouTube - Latour People are still having sex
It's really hot - stop!!! Saaaay: Magnifique!
I remember People Are Still Having Sex. Saw the 12" in a store and within a couple weeks I heard it a the club I frequented at the time. I think the song was a statement about how AIDS had made a lot of people afraid to have sex - but lots were doing it anyway!
Your Disco Needs You
not 100% sure if you intended to limit this subject to the link between disco and porn but I recall VH1 did an entire show about adult entertainers who'd also made music, and if I'm not mistaken there's some related recording called "Porn to Rock" or something similar. The only performers I remember from the show were Divine, Andrea True and Jody Watley's sister, who's name escapes me now....
Tracks actually originally composed for porno films include:
Claudja Barry: Born To Love, for a 1985 film of the same name.
Sex O'Clock USA: Baby Come On - main theme for a 1976 French-American porno documentary "Sex O'Clock USA".
Klaus Schultze: Body Love album - a 1977 instrumental synth/soft disco hybrid for a Lasse Braun classic.
Interesting... Francois Reichenbach must be the same guy that did a documentary on a painter of fake Manet paintings. The material was bought by Orson Welles and included in his film "F for Fake"
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
I bought the soundtrack because there was supposed to be some good tracks on it. To me, the definitely killer track is "You're My Man", by Mort Shuman. That was also released on 12", backed by "Baby Come On", on London in Canada, and Prelude in the U.S. A great single to have.
I also bought a tape of the movie for kicks, and it was quite dull, which reminds me of "Vampiros Lesbos", also a great sountrack to a boring flick.
Also, all the music in the Ron Jeremy flick "A Girl's Best Friend" came from Quango & Sparky's "Disco", on Sonoton.
Although his music wasn't made for porn films, Dennis Parker had a porn acting career before he started singing.
...Boogie Boogie Boogie Boogaaaaaay.....
