Ava Cherry/I Just Can't Shake The Feeling

JUST snagged Ripe!!! on Lp the other day and was taken in by the subtle charms of the cut, but let down by the remainder of the LP...

This is a nice smooth Linda Clifford-esque cut, really nice bass work and Cherry's voice is husky enough to add a pinch of drama to what might have been blander in less capable hands. Oh, and she's smoking hot on the cover too.

Somebody told me recently that she had an album produced by Bob Esty. Is this the album?

I remember having this lp. Isn't it the one with her bald on the cover, standing in front of some neon tubes?

I remember a cut off the lp called, "Where There's Smoke There's Fire". This brought back some memories, as I haven't heard nor owned this lp in many years.

She used to tour with David Bowie about the time of the Young American's lp. I saw David live during that time, and there was a bald black chick doing back-up. I didn't have any idea it was Ava Cherry until years later.

Also, back in the 80's she had a 12" out on Capitol called "Good Intentions (Don't Do Me A Lot Of Good)". It was pretty decent...gave it a few spins at the time. It was on Cherry Red vinyl

I still listen to "You Never Loved Me"-the break with that
wicked bass line! This is a strong LP,one that get's forgotten-I liked that it had a wide variety of club friendly
tracks on it.No CD release though?
