Sports And Disco?
BITD I was a regular watcher of "La Domenica Sportiva" on Italian tele and it always delighted me that they were using Disco themes to start the show.
It wasn't the case on Belgian Tv but maybe it was in your country? Anybody got memories?

I recall well into the later 1980's one of the U.S. networks was constantly playing the instrumental of Bonnie Pointer's "Can't Help Myself" going into the commercial breaks during their broadcasts of American football games.

I remember "Don't Turn Away" by Midnight Flite" T.K. 12" , being used as the NBC sports theme in 1977, I rarely if ever heard it in a club however.
I always wondered who picked this particular song as a sports theme, even at the time it just seemed an odd choice.
But it did make me give the song a second chance and now i really like this song, it's got an incredible break in it and lovely 70's girly vocals..."don't turn away, take the love that you feel in your heart and turn it on today..."
imagine that being played while you're watching football players tackle each other..hhmmmmmmmmmmm!

SPORT MUSIC is a French library music lp from 1979 with several disco numbers, like "Spartaciades". Think Leni Riefenstahl's "The Triumph Of The Will", athletes strinking poses against steel blue skies seminude or better still, wearing yellow and dark brown tracksuits.
