I don't know the song you're referring to, but she also had some other 'danceable' material: A couple of albums produced by Barry White in the mid 70s.
Disco Funk
I just received a 12" by Nancy Wilson (the jazz/pop singer, not the Heart sister) from ebay called "Life, Love and Harmony". I have been a fan for years, and never thought she did anything danceable, much less disco. This single is from 1979 on Capital.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to listen to it yet since my turntable is packed away due to remodeling.
Anybody know anything about it? Was it played? Was it a hit?
Thanks in advance.

as accepting as I am when it comes to disco and who all in the music industry took a stab at it and how that worked out .....
I'm afraid this one .......![]()

this one is a tribute to the clash ... and I don't mean the group that did THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN
I'm talking about the clash that results when a stylized artist does one song ... and a disco remixer comes along and inserts throughout it another .
When Nancy sings her parts we hear more of a light , smooth LOVE BOAT or Marlena Shaw styled disco going on which I'm sure she was comfortable with doing . The results though: Not HIP enough !!
.... so her song gets a disco re-hab --- meaning it is interrupted throughout by a funky, jarring , stripped-down segment featuring overly loud people shrilly repeating (and repeating) music, love and harmony: life! until personally ...
I just can't take it any more !!![]()
(I wonder if Nancy could???)
It really has to be one of the most ill-conceived and least-inspired disco releases- certainly of manic 1979.... if not the entire era.
Well here, judge for yourself ... I'd be interested in what you have to say ....

I rather like that Nancy Wilson track; OK it's not a classic but I've heard ALOT worse disco 'attempts'!I think it's got an exciting funky feel a la 'Ive Got the Next Dance' by Niecy.
Would this Nancy Wilson track from '78 qualify as 'morning music' do you think?:
...ya gotta beat the street......
honestly, I'm not sure that'd have gotten me moving on the floor , Dee.Kind of Diana Ross-ish ---isn't it .

Can you share an example of "ALOT worse"(??), ? I'd be interested in that!!!
I was going to further say that this 12" goes to the bottom of the pile ... the very bottom ... but I'd figured I'd said enough ....
I would listen again ... to give it one more chance .....but, - I-Just- Can't .....
Here's some Nancy Wilson disco that might find its way closer to mid-way in that disco stack: (hey, its got a french horn ! ) :
{there's a very odd note played at 1:33}

You want A LOT worse? Sure! Here's one...
Also from 1979: "Vesti la Giubba" from I Pagliacci done disco...complete with a "laughing" break. And talk about shrill choruses! Franchi, like Nancy Wilson, had a great set of pipes, but this was a pretty pathetic attempt to cash in on the "disco remake" boom (which in itself was also pretty worn out by '79).
P-U-
-YOU WIN on that one .
It's not even enjoyable in a camp way ......
Maybe they could've pulled off an operatic disco number ....(?) .... but .... why did they choose this song??? laugh you silly clown?? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...........????
had quite the opposite effect on me ..... !! Kind of insulting really.
I agree tmob , we can put this one on the pile .....below Nancy Wilson's .
