This is really frustrating :icon_confused:. I absolutely know that riff, but I can't place it.

It sounds like something by Incognito from the early 1990s, but I've just been through the one CD of theirs I have, and despite sounding like it would fit perfectly with their minor hit "I hear your name", it isn't from that song.

I'm hoping someone can put us both out of our misery!

Thanks for the reply. I just love the riff and that is why I am after the original. It has such a nice feel to it.

It's "Funkanova" by Wood, Brass and Steel. That sax loop is from the average part of the record aswell! :icon_razz:. It really takes off half way through. Great tune. Good version of "Always There" on the LP aswell.

Hey, thanks for the link to this 12". It's a version of the track I haven't heard before! The CD and LP versions of Funkanova are instrumentals. There was never any vocals. I guess this must be some bootleg, previously unreleased mix.

Aah! Yes, that'll be why I know that sample so well, because "Funkanova" appears on the "Jumpin' Vol. 1" CD compilation by Joey Negro, which I have in my collection.

The sample you originally posted sounds exactly like the version of "Funkanova" I have, but the clip on the Juno website you found sounds like a different version of the song. Be assured that Funkanova definitely is the right answer! :icon_cool:
