I agree, but I suspect the fact that the song and video don't match was probably intentional (and I dare you to say that you DON'T smile at the scene where the older gentleman is cuttin' the rug). And besides, what a slammin' song...I think it's some of Bowie's clearest, strongest and most soulful singing ever. He knew, I'm sure, that with Chic AND Stevie Ray Vaughn in his backing band, he shouldn't hold back. He does a funk-rock song called "Stay" that's just as great. It's on his awesome album "Station to Station".

You can like a song like LET'S DANCE ( as I do also) and still alllow yourself to notice that even if intentionally so , its accompanying video is so unconnected its inane ...... ... This song is supposed to be about a romantic couple swaying under a serious moonlight.... not despondent children wandering the desert in the middle of a hot afternoon contemplating life's inequalities .

...Conversely if I wanted to make a political statement about the injustices of the native people of Australia ....I'd hardly pick LET'S DANCE ... as poignant background music !!!! :icon_rolleyes: :icon_razz::icon_razz:

I didn't smile at the scene where the older gentlemen is cuttin' the rug .. :icon_redface: He's off his barstool, doing a goofy funky chicken right at the romantic part of the song where the dancing couple is supposed to sway through the overly crowded floor to find their own intimate space .... I think I cringed ...... :icon_razz: :icon_lol:

I think he was all cleaned up & off the drugs at this point so he no longer had something to distract him from his shallow & pretentious career! (ouch, I'm not really bitchy, just observing :icon_mrgreen:)

I was a tad disappointed by the vid for Spacer by Sheila & B Devotion.
