    Label Amour

Do you know some expressive disco song manufactured by the label "Amour" ? I think it's a very intriguing label. Thanks !

I am aware of a U.S. label called Amour which was distributed by Springboard International. There are 2 12"ers they released that I know of, both by an Oakland based group called The Variations featuring Samaki

    Let's Take A Disco Ride (Medley) 4:54 / A Woman's Blues 4:01 - 1976

The Vibes Are Good / same - 1978

There was also a Canadian Amour label that I do not believe was affiliated with the US label. Most notable was thier pressing of Bumblebee Unlimited's Love Bug on very cool multicolor vinyl (which goes for big $$$ on eBay!). Below is a list of the releases I know of. All were issued between 1976 and 1978.

Robert Lee: Are You Ready To Love Me 9:32 / 3:44

    Bumblebee Unlimited: Love Bug 7:10 / 7:10

Goldie Alexander: I Wouldn't Give You Up 5:45 // instrumental / disco mix

Birds Of A Feather: Elvis, How Could I Resist (Elvis Medley)

Paul Vincent: Gay Rock For Anita

Goldie Alexander: Come A Little Closer / instrumental

    Cheers!

Well rather than start a new topic ill just post it here, anyone heard of the label Cresendo?? I have 1 12" on it and its an intresting pressed one, never seen anything else like it. Its for the track "Shangrila" by La Pregunta (disco classic produced by John Davis) and 1 side is on 33 RPM which is the regular version then the B side is on 45 RPM with an intresting sax remix. Does anyone know of anything else on this label?? A friend of mine said it was a rock label for the most part.

    Crescendo Records

    Hi Jimmy,

I know of 2 other 12"ers on GNP Crescendo in addition to Shangri La.

    La Pregunta: Chameleon 7:30 / 7:30
The Monster Orchestra: Hangin' Out / A Drop In The Bucket

Chameleon is also pressed at 45 rpm on one side and 33 on the other, just like the Shangri La 12" you mentioned. The Monster Orchestra 12" came out I think in the late 70's or early 80's.

The label has been in business since at least the 1960's - I remember a group called the Seeds that had a garage punk hit called 'Pushin' Too Hard' that came out on GNP Crescendo. And they are still in business - they have an active website showing all of their current catalog.
