No takers yet? Here's another hint:
Back in the day, when this group was in competition with the J-5, Rolling Stone magazine referred to them as "little white-capped demons" missing something called 'Soul'. :)
We've all seen Bernie's "Unlikely Disco Artists" list. This is where this one belongs. Maybe he'll add it after one of you experts  tells us who and what it is. :)
The year is 1979, the label is Mercury and one of the two producers is Maurice Gibb.

To the heart of my soul,
To the heart of my soul.
You won't, you can't, tear me (?down?).
I could, I would, love so strong.
You said you love, that's a lie.
Oh why, oh why, what a way to die.

Good luck. If you know this, you're either a dj who remembers his promos or someone who was hangin' out waaay toooo much.![]()

This is a wild guess, but could it be the Osmonds?
Your wild guess is the right guess. Who else has teeth like that? No clue on the song, eh? Well, I'll give ya the album title and maybe someone'll fess up :P and tell us they know this song.Originally Written by nrgbeat
STEPPIN' OUT by Osmonds (the "The" is missing in their name). Like I said, 1979, most people's pick for the best year in disco. Does this count? :o

Well NRG, no need to keep you or anyone lingering. The song is "I, I, I" by Osmonds. I know a lot of you are going Aye, aye, aye :x . To be fair, it's not a horrid, little MOR song as you might think. Running a little over 4 minutes, the electronic bass line is rather nice. The strings are limited but nicely used. And, when they get to the bridge, it goes 'rockish', attempting to add a little edge. It could have used a better mix as there is no break and what you read earlier in the game just about sums up the lyric content. Still, I'd put this on a playlist way ahead of some of the other trash we had out there.
