USA/Saudi-Arabian Connection?

No, this is not the title of a new Boris Midney output but today was announced that the US is making a huge weapon delivery ($ 20 Billion) to Saudi-Arabia to help protect that country from hostile neighbours, especially Iran.

Now, isn't Saudi-Arabia considered as a major sponsor of Islamic fundamentalism? Is there a fair chance that the US is making a big mistake here like they did in the past with Iran and Iraq?????
