"I Met Him on the Dance Floor"...???

And that's all I know of the lyrics. It's a female vocalist. I remember liking the drums in the song. (Did they kind of remind me of Amii Stewart's "Knock on Wood"? I dunno. It's all fuzzy.)

I *think* I danced to this song at an enormous gay bar in Chicago in the early 80's. If so, it would have been the same time that a disco remake of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" was huge. (There was a "snow storm" inside the disco during that song. Shredded plastic falling forEVER in strobe lighting. Very cool!)

I feel as though this is an obvious one I should know. But it's been bugging me for years.

might it be "...saw You on the dancefloor..."

which would lead me to "Dancin' The Night Away" by Voggue??? maybe/ maybe not...

I was just coming back here to say, "Uh, maybe it was 'I SAW him on the dancefloor'" and I found your post. So maybe it was "I saw YOU on..."

I'm not familiar with "Dancin' the Night Away" by Voggue -- at least not by title. I'm off to try to find a clip. Or the CD.

I am not kidding: this "I wanna find that song but I have no clue" case has been haunting me for 25 years! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
