    Vaudou Aux Caraibes

    Well,

I just got a copy today of the film Vaudou Aux Caraibes, you know, the movie that goes with the Cerrone LP. Has anyone ever seen it? I really dont know what the hell i just watched lmgdaof!!!!! beings the film is in French with no subtitles. The only thing i understood is all the Cerrone music lol. As for the actual story of the film? Hmmm, well, i'll say it reminded me of what i could pick up on as The Belevers (that voodoo horror film with Martin Sheen from 86) meets Miami Vice with sexual kink on the side lol. Id love to see an English dubbed version of this cause the end was action packed like the climax on a Miami Vice episode and the music at the end was awsome hard hitting Cerrone eurodisco at its best. But hell, im lucky to even have the film lol. Anyway, just wanted to share this and see if anyone has ever seen this film and understood it that dont understand French.

I learned BRIGADE MONDAINE: VAUDOU AUX CARAIBES is the 3rd and final installment of the a moderately successful late 70's French series about hookers kidnapped and abused by criminals. The two other titles are BRIGADE MONDAINE - VICE SQUAD and BRIGADE MONDAINE - LA SECTE DE MARRAKECH. Each comes with a Cerrone soundtrack and each of those in turn recycles previously recorded hits such as Give Me Love. There are excellent takes on Midnight Lady and Cerrone's Paradise plus minor hites like Phonic, out also as a 12" under the name "Crystal". I've only seen the Marrakech one - this has a blond Finnish Grace Jones lookalike (!) Arja Töyrylä among the abused. Why the French do not appreciate their own genre film output and put films like these out on dvd is a shame.

Well in this final one from what i made out, it has something to do with Voodoo and drugs. The film starts out with some kind of african tribe and then a chopped off head is found. Then there is a drug bust and big chase at the end. I know all about the soundtracks, they are good DJ mixing tools. I am in the prosses of obtaining the other 2 soundtracks (I only have the vice squad one). But I would love to see the other 2 films also, even though i may not understand it lol. They need subtitles.
