    Remicks

the only way to get the extended version is on that promo 12", (and it was hard to come by when it was first promoed) the LP version has it split up and not segued.

this is one of those records, that while a bit unknown BITD, has seen plays by all the biggies of today, Dimitri From Paris, Harvey, Joey Negro, etc. (it's a great closing track, even though the tempo is around 116-118 if I remember correctly)

it is a fantastic song, that was definitely underrated when it it first came out, it's been bootlegged a couple of times, but the original promo 12" has been fetching top dollar for the past 5-7 years.

Which is the version on the Disco Forever compilation, which clocks in at 6:18? Was this a re-edit?

Great song. I didn't know the 12" was going for mad money on Ebay. If it's just an edit of the two LP parts, then I don't know if it's worth shelling out such cash for it. Sounds more like a trophy for bragging rights.

well I had to pull out my 12" and "Journey To The Light" LP.

It makes me wonder why they didn't just put the whole song on the LP as one track like the 12". If it's a theme they were going for and reprising the song on the LP, I could understand it. As it is, Part 1 starts off the LP and then on side 2, Part 2 is the 3rd track, not the last, which would make more sense to me. The 12" version is really just an edit of the 2, I played them back to back with the 12", they are exactly the same, minus the fade out and fade in sections on the LP. the LP as a whole is pretty good, nothing even hints at their biggest disco hit "loving is really my game". all very R n B flavoured disco funk, I am especially fond of "Everytime I See You, I Go Wild".

The thing about expensive vinyl on the internet is basically a supply and demand issue. Any song that made it big was pressed in large quantities, while songs that didn't hit it with DJ's or Radio stations never made it past the promo stage, hence their rarity. Today we have DJ's like Harvey, Dimitri from Paris, Danny Krivit, etc... that are pulling out and playing these songs that were virtually ignored by DJ's and the general public BITD, and finding that in fact they are fantastic disco gems. So a rare promo 12" of "We're On Our Way Home" is going to fetch much more money than say a promo 12" of "I Love The Nightlife".
