What I think makes this video so magical is that it does seem to be a demonstration of sincere and unrestricted adult fun.....it's this excitement that we all associate with disco. I may be wrong (rose-coloured glasses again) but that was a time when it really seemed honest. So much of the music was derived from genuine human excitement and expression.
But as I watch Sylvester, there's no doubt to me that this was a person who had to dance and had to make music. It's like that t-shirt "born to boogie" and I believe that some of us are and were here to entertain the troops....that's our purpose.
The majority of people get caught up in the banal and everyday but some of us get beyond that. Disco and dance music certainly has been that constant, upbeat friend that's managed to keep pushing and pulling me to go forward.
