Hey -
I thought it would be cool to discuss the phenomenon of disco tracks dedicated to cities.
A couple off the top of my head that are juicy are:
The Larry McGee Revolution - The Burgh' (dedicated to Pittsburgh, PA)
Roy Ayers - Chicago (twisted ode to Chi-town)
Look forward to seeing ones that you guys know...
The Boogie Doctor

for those of us here in Northern California, the Village People's "San Francisco" and Toni Tone Tony's (or Tower of Power's, can't quite remember) "Oakland Stoke" probably strike a chord. But I've always wondered why "Native New Yorker" is not that particular city's theme song. Though I've never visited, the lyric " what are you waiting for? nobody opens the door for a native New Yorker!" and "did you still believe love could really be like a broadway show?" seem to reflect pretty much all I've seen and read about the city....
I Love Noo Yawk - Metropolis
Johannesburg (tell me what's the word) - Gil Scott Heron ( was played in some discos in '74/'75)
Superbowl Shuffle - Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew (in a round about sort of way)
YouTube - Super Bowl Shuffle
London Town - Light of The World
Sevilla Nights - Santa Esmeralda
"Copenhagen" by Tommy Seebach, the man behind the best Danish disco version of "Apache". "Munich" by The SARR Band, famed for their 2 epic cuts "Mephisto" and "Magic Mandrake". "Arrivederci Roma" by Crystal Grass, included in their traveloque album starring Cristi. "Frisco" by Harlow, from their "Take Off" album - but one is not supposed to shorten the name like that?
Oh well, BRAZIL is not a city, but a country, and a BIG one, :icon_lol:
Hubert Laws "The Chicago Theme" an early disco jazz classic
I was gonna mention that. I'm surprised anyone outside Denmark knows this :icon_eek:"Copenhagen" by Tommy Seebach
