Thanks Miss Dayna.. This is the news I have been waiting for !! That is quite an impressive list of contributors to this eagerly awaited return. I ntoce TRICKY is mentioned in the list.. Grace did some great work with him during the mid 90`s..

I wonder what it will sound like! Seeing the contributors I think it will be some old skool and some nu sounding stuff. Could be very interesting combined with the great Grace.
i, to the contrary, am quite sceptical about what this album might sound like, or, rather, of what quality it will be. artists such as prince's recent work has not been a shade of his earlier output, and i have reason to believe that grace's album will be similarly dissapointing. once an artist has passed the apex of their creative powers, i think that they forfeit the right and privelege to produce any further work. is that opinionated enough?
"FAINTED"...Grace may seem crazy to the masses but I can assure you she would not put out something that would merit your highly negative and pessimistic statement.
and In your opinion what constitutes being passed the apex of creative powers, and is there an age limit on that,?I know MANY Diva's older than Grace that could blow a Beyonce,Rhianna,Ciara..etc out of the water
And as far as forfeiting her right and privilege to produce any further work, that would be a new law that you would enforce or should it be already in place ?
Is that opinion oriented enough for (you):icon_rolleyes::icon_lol:

I disagree; however, some might be doing it just for the money in which I would "hintly" agree. All of us who are intimately familiar with the artists first works will hope that it sounds similar to the early works, but you have to get with the current hype and trend, though disco influenced work is popping up all over the place now. But let them have their fun cause they're like us, on the way out!

I must admit to often being disappointed with new material that classic artists release, naming no names. There are exceptions though such as Angela Bofill who released a fabulous CD in the late 90s, easily as classy as her 70s & 80s stuff, which I find is often not the case with many 'come-back' releases.:icon_confused: It's nice to see the artists still working but the results rarely live up to expectations IMO.
...ya gotta beat the street......
Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion
meets the sun
When you think of someone like Grace Jones and remember
the risks she took(the LP on Island in 1980)and compare her
with these lightweight nothings of today,it's humbling. As she started
to get a little daring in the late 70's("On Your Knees")who
was ready for THAT LP? "Warm Leatherette","Bullsh@T""Private Life"etc...I remember playing
it the day it came out and my mouth just dropped-but this
was Grace. And she continued to surprise over and over
after that(a fave-"My Jamaican Guy")I am intrigued by the
pairing of Wally Badarou on this new LP-sounds like perfect
Grace!
