I absolutely LOVE this album. Brilliant! "Dancing Angel" is my fave cut.Originally Written by Steely Dan
I recently bought Love Unlimited's 'In Heat' LP mainly for the vocal version of this track which is one of my all-time favourites. Its not as good as the instrumental version by Love Unlimited Orchestra but still good.
Still in the earlier 70's bag, I got a copy of The Jones's 'Keepin' Up With The Joneses' as I've heard many people talk favourably about 'Sugar Pie Guy' over the years (this one escaped me for some reason) but have to confess I was a little disappointed but then again the Roberta Kelly LPs have grown on me with subsequent listens so this one may do too! :-?
Some other 2nd hand LPs that I've acquired recently that I definitely love to bits :P are:
'Learning to Dance All Over Again' by Lorraine Johnson
'Perfect Love Affair' by Constellation Orchestra (Dillard & Boyce were so talented IMO)
'Midnight Rendezvous' by Tasha Thomas(this has a 'raw' feel similar to Wardell Piper's sound I think)
& a 12" by Patrick Hernandez, 'Disco Queen'- I have to say I prefer the b-side called 'Show Me The way You Kiss'.

I cant decide on a favourite track at the moment Graham 'cos you're right, the LP is brilliant. I also love the cover as well as the music. Its SO disco dont you find? I seem to have so many LP covers with a lone 'hunk' being adored by 2 or 3 scantilly clad lip-glossed women (think THP, Nightlife Unlimited, First Choice, etc.etc.!) With all this sampling of 70's disco music & plundering of old ideas in current dance tracks when will some new act release a CD with a sleeve like these classic disco ones I wonder?!

Steely: The world's moved on and nobody uses such cheap tricks anymore. Or do they?
I was surprised at the quaint concept behind the cover to the 'Funkology' compilation CD, released last year. Totally nude woman, laying side ways on, dripping honey onto her boobs. A very pleasant sight for a hetero like me, but like, so 1977.
This sort of imagery is alive and well in the world of rap.
