I'm glad I'm not a vinyl purist; I got it on the 'Disco Spectrum 3' CD.![]()
I like to track the bidding of records on Ebay, it's quite interesting to see what's 'hot' and what's 'not'. I recently came across this one - Blair Nightlife. At the time of writing the bidding was up to £62.00 and the reserve was not met!! :icon_eek:. It's a good tune, but is it worth that sum of money? Is the 12" that rare?

...ya gotta beat the street......
Is it worth it, well it's a nice tune that's always been in demand, but I wouldn't say it's extremely rare.
If I wanted a copy I'd probably be happy to part with a reasonable amount of money for nice mint copy, but it just depends how much you want it in the end.
Compared to the price of some of the funk/northern 45s/jap CDs I've seen it seems a bargain.
It's no different to people spending hundreds of pounds on expensive trainers or designer clothes, these products have probably exploited child labour and contributed to global warming during manufacture.
So ethically speaking buying Blair's "Nightlife" is doing your bit to stop child labour and global warming, as long as you recycle the packing materials and offset the carbon emissions from the delivery transportation.
So buying old records is really just doing your bit for the health of the planet, regardless of price, just in case you needed any more reasons for buying old records.
