in case you, like me, were curious .... but you, like me, had never seen this album cover :
*****
Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion
meets the sun
Or this one too.....

He looks like the love child of Carol Bayer Sager & Leo Sayer.:icon_twisted:
...ya gotta beat the street......
The man passed away in 2001 but this is the pic on his tribute page at MYS.

That's definitely not the same person.:icon_confused::icon_eek:
...ya gotta beat the street......
Not the same. And that's why he used a model on the album cover !?
So that curly haired guy on the covers wasn't actually Harry Thumann??? :icon_eek::icon_question::icon_eek:
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
...and his real name is Harnold Thumann and he's a German.
******
....so the title of this thread needs to be:
What Harry Thumann Doesn't Look Like ???
Most confusing ......
And how does someone come up with what has to be imo considered a disco masterpiece in UNDERWATER ... first time at bat .... and then not continue to put out more until all of us finicky fussy clubber types finally got totally sick of him ?????? :icon_confused: :icon_rolleyes:
Harry Thumann was also the mixer/engineer on the D.D. Sound lps and for La Bionda....
Most mysterious .

The photo of Harry you posted here looks about right. I had the 2nd photo of him on the front of my 12" of Underwater.
Now, I have something that will burst yer bubble. This smallish black and white photo you have posted here is NOT...I repeat...NOT Harry Thumann. I happen to know this guy, and he goes by the name of Johnny George from Indianapolis, Indiana. He used to run the record pool there in the late 70's and early eighties. I know...I was a member. The last I heard of him is that he was working as a director of a radio station in Indy...maybe a television station, I'm not sure. But this small b/w photo is NOT Harry Thumann.
I would be interested to know what site you get this from, Scooter, as I would like to check it out for myself, if you don't mind. Can you clue me in, please????
LOL-the mystery of Harnold!
The pic is used on discogs.com and on Harry Thumann's tribute page on MySpace. But don't ask me who's behind the tribute coz' I don't have a clue.
www.myspace.com/harrythumann
So Remmy and Marky can perhaps be assured that the real Thumann is the angel on the covers.
Anyway, there's so little info or material on the web about this guys. Seems he has kept a very low profile over all those years.
