Did you know that the members of The Invisible Man's Band were from the same family with the last name Burke?

That they were originally known as The Five Stairsteps who had a big hit in 1970: O-o-h Child?

And that one member was Keni Burke who had a solo hit in the '80's with Risin' To The Top?

They worked with everybody and their history is pretty fascinating. Check them out at allmusic.com

Good choice DD...I too love this track.
I heard it on my local radio BITD and spent ages on my little tape deck trying to extend my 45 to the same 122 version :icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin: HAPPY DAYS :icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:

Absolutely one of the all time great disco songs! I still remember the summer that song was all over the airwaves:icon_smile:

....but don't sleep on the follow up LP that included

    "I Really Wanna See You"

    That's a hot one too!

The Invisible Man's Band - All night thing

    +1
it's an amazing track, I like the unusual part playing fast repeated
"Comin' Comin' Comin' Comin' Comin' Comin' Comin' Comin' Comin'"
no sampler needed, just human voice.

I've heard just about all the disco hits of the past, but . . . the internet introduced me to Cerrone's Love in C minor, where the hell was I ? :icon_mrgreen:

    :icon_lol:
And it was huge in Montreal !!!!!

Love in C minor is the 2nd 12" I ever bought back in the days. The first being Salsoul Orchestra - Magic bird of fire...

It was still an odd thing ; having a single pressed on a 12" record !!

T'was the start of a lifelong fascination !

After seeing this thread, I had to pull out the cd with this song on it. It's in my car now. Great early '80s groooove.

I've got it on this cd:

Amazon.com: Old School, Vol. 4: Various Artists: Music

Unfortunately, it looks like it's out of print, but there's lots of good stuff on it if you find one.

The first time I heard "All Night Thing" was on a compilation CD called "The Last Party", based on a book that had come out around the same time as the CD loosely describing the highs and lows of Studio 54. What a great song!

You know I have a vague recollection it wasn't that popular over in the UK although the 12" was relesed on Island. It used to get played in the West End of London but I think got more popular later....good tune!!
