Great song indeed
Interestingly, Moonboots' complicated lyrics were written by Anthony Monn (also known as Anthony Moon) the producer of Amanda Lear.
Now we know this song is about the writer's boots. :icon_mrgreen:

If you buy this record your life, will be better.
"Moonboots" is one of those typical examples of a Disco song that's cherished by some, hated by others. I always liked it, very uplifting Salsoul and in fact it never bores me. Thumbs up for this 1.
BTW, here's a housemix of the song:
I'm one of the haters I'm afraid. It's the kind of record that gave Disco a bad name...![]()
Absolutely a favorite-and one of Tom Moulton's best mixes.

love love love Moonboots!
it was and still is different, exciting, and quircky.
body to body boogie by O.R.S. is excellent as well.
I discovered this track pretty late when I surfed and found it on iTunes.
I was wondering what SALSOUL classics they had and found it there along with a KEBEKELEKTRIK track also mixed by Tom Moulton.
Love it by the way !!!

Thank you for started up a thread Remicks based on my comment! Now, who do you think is the Original Moon Boots Man? James Brown or Isaac Hayes?! :) I'd have to still say the godfather of soul because of the snapping snare on every beat is found on early cuts like Money Won't Change You and Let Yourself Go. :)
Speaking about the Tom Moulton mix, did he just mix the track for Salsoul? I decided to buy the LP and the RCA 12" because I wanted to hear the track without the 'Tom Moulton' treatment, and I have to say, other than maybe a different intro, the mixes don't sound much different. Maybe Tommy just phoned in that remix? :D
Like I said, I hate eurosynthdisco in general, but for some reason, this Moonboots track really gets me goin'. I don't know what it is. I think it just has a nice bass riff that keeps the track funky. And the flange (swoosh) effects are pretty cool. And I really like the sound of the drum, punchy and raw, rather than the muted and muffled sound one finds in later disco records.
