Bobby Viteritti sent me this the other day... It's a really nice video of photos put to music from Studio 54. Check it out:

Oops, then we'll have to ask Dayna THE question, since I'm sure you've seen the "54" movie: "How accurate was it?"
BTW, Bernie, did you ever went inside the temple of Disco lust? I know we have the same age but it could have been possible, not?

Johan,
Never went to Studio 54, but I did go in later years when it became the Roxy for a brief time.

The look and feel of the club in the movie was dead on point..but there were quite a few discrepancies
Mark "Mark Beneke"was usually at the door without Steve Rubell.Al Corley who later went on to play the original Steven on Dynasty was an assistant doorman for a very brief time ,"He was SO HOT~!!".Steve didnt hang out at the door all the time like they depicted in the film.he much preferred to sit in the club with his entourage gossip and get high..They did pass out party favors"drugs" to the staff with instructions that they were to take they're share then give them out to the quote unquote "fabulous People"
and it is true that sometimes there would be thousands of people outside trying to get in and only 50 in the club..Steve had a very strange way about him especially when he was high ,and that was just about ALWAYS~!! He wouldnt let ANY Puerto Ricans in unless they were celebrities or drop DEAD gorgeous...He was partial to blondes , and it was true that people were sexually uninhibited at the club but That was usually in bathroomstalls the VIP area in the basement and occasionally in the lofts.. But it wasnt like this Sodom & Gomorra and everywhere you turned people were F*cking..although women would run around topless with no panties and would think nothing of bending over or twirling with everything exposed..also they wore complete see through outfits.those plastic see through pants were very fashionable at the time.. and the men ,especially alot of the gay men wore next to nothing ,there was a group of men that came almost every weekend and all they wore were Jock straps:icon_eek:
or just spray paint..
below is Mark working the crowd.. or getting worked by the crowd.. he was one tough bird~!!!

Thx Dayna, ehmmm. I especially like the part with the topless and no panties and stuff like that! Great place![]()
Personally, I never had the chance to be in Studio 54 during disco era but I managed to simply walk inside the place during daytime (it's 254, 54th street if I recall correct) that was in 1999, shortly after I saw the movie "54" just to get a feel of what it must have been like in "the good years" when discos were open everywhere. The club was converted to some night cabaret.
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
