anyone know of places to find disco records in italy?

    hello,

i am traveling in europe for the first time. i am currently in paris (i heard most record stores here only have 60s and 70s rock), going to barcelona tomorrow (are there shops there for dance music???) and then i am in italy july 3-july 15.

this disco nerd from New York said he thought Milano was the best place to find classic/euro disco/italo/cosmic stuff....but he had no idea where to go. i planned it so i am there in milano my last day of the italia trip.

i'm also looking for a couple places to crash in italy while i'm there and/or people to meet up with! i go to london afterwords and a friend told me there are some places to dig as well....also read about the horse meat disco which looks fun.

    holla at a girl.....

i am not going online very much so i prefer email responses if that is possible....if not i can try to check this every few days...

When In Rome, try Metropolis Rock on Via Cavour, a few minutes from the Stazione centrale railway station, on the left hand side as you go down the street - one of the most massive reservoirs of 7" disco vinyl anywhere. Be prepared to spend 3 hrs minimum. Nothing else comes close in Italy. There's a website dedicated to Italian record stores, google a related phrase and you'll find it. I've never found anything that special in Milano, though, cosmic or otherwise. Incidentally, I'll be in Milan & other northern Italy destinations myself the 2 last weeks of july, I'll look closer into the situation, in Milan especially.

Barcelona? Oh, don't you LOVE it?! You've been to the Reira Baixa street near the Richard Meier-designed museum of modern art, no end to the fab disco vinyls in those stores, or what? Stay in Barcelona and under no circumistances go to Madrid - it's hideous.
