i would like to find out where i can find this noise by itself clean and to find out how the noise was made or where i can get this noise as a sample. i'm a producer and would like to go back into history and bring these sounds into current productions. Thank you in advance all who reply!
thanx,

Are you referring to some kind of "Phazer Gun Sound" like in Star Trek? Such effects were indeed used on Disco records.
of course lasers make noise! next time you watch starwars, put it on mute as see how fun it is to watch! then you'll realize lasers make noise. on a reality note, i found out what makes that noise. i was refering to the "laser sound" used in "arpeggio - love and desire" or "Captain Sky - Moonchild". it's actually a synth drum. it goes "peeeeewwwww!!!" and that was another producer's quote.
thanx all for replying,

Those laser sounds you are talking about were made on a drum synth called the Pearl Syncussion.
You can find those kind of sounds and many other Disco sounds on a Sample CD called Ueberschall Disco Deluxe.
Gotta Have Disco!
the synth drum i ran into predates this one by two years. and actually has more modeling adjustments. this was the actual source, by the time pearl made their version they incorporated this popular sound. it would be the equivalent of buying a drum machine and finding a drum patch called 808. it's not the original but it's in there to be up to par with other drum machines. if you're interested, i can send you some links of the original drum. thanks for the pearl info. it's quite interesting and i would have never thought of analog synth percussion as being it's own little family of synths.
beatutiful ain't it! It's called the Synare.
