Never give up hope!
For those who knows the French Canadian artist Boule Noire (a.k.a. Georges Thurston), the Quebec artist community has announced that Mr. Thurston is gradually loosing his fight against cancer.
George Thurston was launched on the disco scene in 1978 when he released: “Aimer d’amour”, a 6’25” slow grooved-"haunting riff"-single that have made its way through the most famous night clubs.

His wife made a public appearance today, matching the official publication of his biography.
She confirmed that the prognosis was given by the doctors earlier this week.
May his contribution in the disco history remain unforgotten by all…

That is sad. I never really checked out anything by him until I saw the youtube video of Aimer D'Amour. I liked that song, so I ended up buying the 12".
Disco Funk
Boule Noire was big here in the 70's, as popular as other quebec disco artists like André Gagnon, Nanette Workman, Toulouse, Patsy Gallant, just to name a few.
This is sad he is slowly dying of colorectal cancer that could have been prevented if test were done at the right time. Best of luck Georges !
If you buy this record your life, will be better.

And 1 of their classics:
Since there's no clip available from "Loin D'ici" >"Aimer D"amour"
Quiet a little bit late, but never too late.
I just heard about George Thurstons Death and it makes me very sad.
I guess there are not so many people here in Germany that know Boule Noire and his music.
The french-canadian military was based down here where I live and that's how I did get introduced into quebecois music.
The military left in the early 90s and with them many good friends.
I really miss them and their lifestyle. Right at the moment I listen to 'Ce Bon Vieux Je T'aime' and getting tears in my eyes.
REST IN PEACE, George
You are now 'Loin D'Ici' but you'll be always in our hearts.
My best hopes and wishes to his family and a peaceful chistmastime to all of you.
