I like hghis Bionic Boogie song, "Hot Butterfly" the most
''The Glow of Love'' with Change (lead vocal Luther Vandross) had 3 writters: Mauro Malavasi, Davide Romani and Wayne Garfield. I found on web a web site about Wayne Garfield and he said that Luther Vandross really, really loved to sing ''The Glow of Love'':
Wayne recalled Luther's recording session testimony as, "Wayne, this is the most beautiful song I've ever sung in my life"

I Love 'Glow Of Love' ! :icon_biggrin:What a record.
It was played in the Lounge a few weeks ago at the Luxury Soul Weekender (we had Ashford & Simpson as our headliners..awesome awesome awesome ! Jean Carne, Miles Jaye, Shirley Jones and Cherelle at the next one !) at 5.00 am by Terry Jones and the place was JUMPING.
Maybe someone can confirm or deny something .. I've been told that one of the Luther led 'Change' tracks didn't get released on TWELVE INCH in the US at the time ...it seems unlikely tho.....but that makes it either 'Glow Of Love', 'Searching' or 'Lovers Holiday' ?![]()
As far as I know, Mr Garfield only wrote the lyrics of the songs so how can he claim paternity to the sampling of the music ? (Janet/Aretha...)

"The Glow of Love" - Luther Vandross' finest hour?
Whenever I think or hear of "Glow of Love," in which Luthor Vandross so eloquently and effortlessly delivered and superbly sang, I think about that time not only in my life but the music industry and of disco as well.
It was 1980, and disco was going through a huge change, in fact it was dying; so the name of that album was not only appropriate for disco music, but for the music industry as a whole.
The whole fabric, make-up, and sound of the song was so different than what we were used to (et. al. the 130 bpm disco songs with full orchestra, percussion, etc.). Mind you, "Glow of Love," and other songs on that album still had the strings and some percussion but everything had been cut lean and slimmed down in comparison to popular/standard disco music that we were so used to hearing the previous 6 years (before 1980).
The whole album was truly awesome; but that one song brings back so many memories of my love life, the music industry, and the decline and death of disco in that same year.

all of the above mentioned songs were released as 12" singles, Maybe "A Lovers Holiday" was a promo only, mine is a one sided promo on RFC, "Searching" was backed with "Angel In My Pocket" and "The Glow Of Love" was backed with an edited version of "The Glow Of Love".
all US RFC 12" singles. The recent bootleg copies have "A Lovers Holiday" backed with "The Glow Of Love". BITD it was never released like that.
O M G !!!!! :icon_eek:

Be sure to buy their second lp "miracles" as well !!
be sure i'll check it! :D
thanx!
Wow "Wever;" how old are you? Are you a puppy or are you our age (40+)? If you are our age, you are 27 years late and 27 dollars short. But it's good that you finally heard it and love it; the whole album was good and Luther was not the only fronting vocalist for that album.
The other change albums after this one were good but couldn't hold a candle (they always say the first work is the best and it's hard to follow up to it). Anyhoo, enjoy!

I've borned 27 years late! i'd give anything to have lived that time!!!! OH! if i had to choose now to reencarnate in sb, i'd say sb being young in the 70s!!!!!!!!!!!!! for sure!!!
Anyway, i have to thank for being here and enjoyin everything you all talk about, any song you name i LOVE it! i can't imagine how my life would be without "discovering" disco music, and funk in general.![]()
