Retiring game show host Bob Barker has a disco connection or rather his show "The Price Is Right" does. Do you know what it is?
No, it's not the music. Keep guessing.:icon_biggrin:
Could it be that the theme music was sampled in Crystal Waters's fabulous "Come On Down"?
Make that feeling come again!
Svend
No it has nothing to do with Crystal Waters.
Wow, this is tougher than I thought.:icon_biggrin:
I always thought "Cerrone's - Love in C minor" keyboard effects were quite similar to some early TPIR's tracks.
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
The Producer is a big fan of DISCO music!

hmmmm....
* Taught Cerrone to play drums in the late sixties?
* His announcer, Rod Roddy together with Liza Minnelli were constantly caught trying to sneak in thru the back door at Studio 54?
* That's his arm on the Crisco Disco LP ??
* Most expensive SHOWCASE ever included a family den disco makeover including a lighted dance floor and a personal performance by KC & The Sunshine Band ?
* Considered hiring Rupaul as a "Barker's Beauty" when ratings were sagging?
* Before each taping , sings I LOVE THE NIGHTLIFE as part of his studio audience warm-up routine ?
* Screwed every one of The Ritchie Family gals?
* Wanted to get Jermaine Jackson spayed and neutered ?

Nope and it's none of these either:
Bob Barker never danced at the Troc.
Bob Barker was never a dj at the Sandpiper.
Bob never auditioned for the Village People.
Bob never had an affair with Paul Jabara.
Rod Roddy and Sylvester were never considered to sing "No More Tears" together.
Bob was not the first choice for Tony Manero in SNF.
This may not be it, but it is kind of semi-obscure connection.
Bob Barker hosts The Price is Right. The Price is Right is a CBS game show. Another CBS game show that was around was Password. Password was originally taped at Studio 52 in the 1960s. Studio 52 would eventually become in the 70s as a popular disco club called Studio 54 that played disco music.
Hmm, sounds pretty good to me. :icon_razz:
Since no one guessed this, here's the answer.
Kathleen Bradley who was a Barker's beauty from 1990-2000 was a member of the disco group Destination who sang "Move On Up".

That is a good one !! :icon_biggrin:
Hey - after Roddie encouraged contestants to "Come on down" ... once they won the bidding and were going to climb on stage ...they could've cut over to Kathleen and have her quickly sing the line "Move on, UP! "
:icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
BTW Bernie ... I miss your Trivia Dept. ....it was a fun area to play around ... but I guess you felt it wasn't ultilized enough ....

As a huge fan of TPiR, I never would have guessed that. There have been too many models to remember them all. :icon_biggrin:
Very cool bit of trivia. I lost track of the show by the late 80s or so. I just remember the Beauties Holly, Janice?, and I forget the third - they were two blondes and a brunette.
I still love Barker's cameo in Happy Gilmore "the price is wrong....bi%ch".
