Do any of you guys have Oliver Sain? I have an Oliver Sain 12" single thats real cool. The one I have is called B-oo-gi-e I think this is great stuff.
Luckily in the 70's i was on Contempo's mailing list so i ended up with most of the Oliver Sain releases. Those that never came out over here i bought on U.S. Abet. The singer Oliver married was Fontella Bass (of Rescue Me fame).
And The B-Side of B.oO.G.i.e is Feel Like Dancin, which is a damn good disco track IMHO but "Bus Stop" and "Double Bump" are still my favourites.
Oliver Sain was also the manager of Fontella Bass before he married her...
I\'m a Victim ( of th very Song I sing )
Bus Stop was a FANTASTIC piece of early Jazz Funk (before the term was in existence!). He could sound a mite samey, but his grooves were BAAAD.
Are there any CDs of his with Bus Stop that come from original master tapes? I have the CD of the album 'Bus Stop' VCS 007 and the sound quality is really poor (lifted from vinyl with too much noise reduction). Please send me a private message if you know of any as I can't gain access to this forum on an ordinary basis due to technical problems.
Yeah, FEEL LIKE DANCIN is a great song.
Ill have to look for this Bus Stop record now, too.
I've got this one (remastered by Tom Moulton).
