    Question Lost rare treasure.

I was a DJ in the 70's and early 80's here in the US during my college days.
My collection although nowhere NEAR as extensive as some seen here was pretty impressive. It was also lost in a fire in 1985 and some treasured songs were lost.
Through the wonders of the Internet, and a few eclectic record stores in several cities through the years I have pieced together a majority of my collection.
One of my favorite songs, "Start the Dance" has escaped me however and all efforts have led to a dead end.
I THOUGHT the group was Bohannon but every search has led to "Let's Start the Dance" which is incorrect
It has been so long since I have heard the song that I cannot recall many of the words. I purchased the 12 " single in 1980. The jacket was plain white and I want to say the label was either Mercury or Capital but that is not a certainty
I DO remember that many of the lines in the song would end with "come on and dance"
I also remember the very last lines in the song repeated "I wanna dance" with great enthusiasm.
I hope the disco wisdom in this forum will help me find the name of my lost treasure and allow me to find it somewhere.
Thanks for any info out there:icon_smile:

Saturday Night Band, "Come On Dance dance"?
    Marathon: "I Wanna Dance"?

Maybe you can give more info on the musical style? Disco? Hi-NRG?

I go for Videoskooter's Marathon - I Wanna Dance (sample)
(It ends repeating: "I wanna dance")

If that's not it: is it male/female single/group? etc.

Jim, I found the remix of Lets Start The Dance on You Tube - is this the track you lost? Start The Dance was released in 1979 on the Mercury label (in the UK) - and is very similar to this version!
