Days Of Pearly Spencer - Paul Baker

Does anyone have any information on 'Days Of Pearly Spencer' by Paul Baker ?.
I have the extended version on a greek lp called 'Dynamite Maxi 88' on CBS from 1988.

It's a great Hi-NRG version of the David McWilliams (and later Marc Almond) classic.
He is American sounding to me,but i hope someone could shed somemore light on this brilliant track,and maybe the artist too.

I have a real nice Canadian 12" single of "Days of Pearly Specer" from 1978 by a group called Trademark. Very 70s Disco and Costandinos-like. I know this doesn't answer your question, but I couldn't resist as I like this song and I didn't know it was covered by someone beside Marc Almond.

I think the original of The Days Of Pearly Spencer is a mid 60's song by David MacWilliams.

It's a really great song and it has been sampled by Cerrone :icon_eek: in Supernature

Has anyone heard anything yet about the track?

I've tried everywhere to get some info but i've got jack s**t so far !!!!.

It's always been one of my Hi-NRG favourites,just that i've never been bothered in finding out anything about it.

Oh well.........Keep trying i suppose !!!!!! :icon_lol:
