Dear Paul!
I think my favorites are "Victim" and "Rock".
Cosmic Love & Kisses From SIRIUS & DARKTUNES
"Nights On Broadway" is also a very good song from her
(Is there a long version existing???)
Ok. I don't think I fucked up this time even though I'm doing this at the midnight hour when I said I wouldn't. :-? I checked my list and I don't see Candi Staton on it anywhere.
I know this will seem like another obvious paul pick but damn it, if it's good, why fight it. My choice having said that is "Young Hearts Run Free."
Find them and destroy them!

My no. 1 pick from Candi is "When You Wake Up Tomorrow". "Victim" and "Young Hearts" are fine too, and then there's a little gem from 1979, an Ashford & Simpson tune called "Rough Times". Short (just 2:44) but sweet... It's on the flip side of the "When You Wake Up..." 12-incher.
And oh yeah, I've too always wondered if there is an extended version of "Nights On Broadway"!

Hi Paul
I've never had a problem with the artists that you pick, its interesting to see who will come next. I must say that you haven't mentioned any Eurodisco artists in a loooooooonnnnggg time :-? :) .
As far as Candi Stanton goes, my favorite is "Wake Up Tomorrow" and "Young Hearts Run Free" in 2cd place.
*DISCO DELIGHT*
I was crazy about Victim until it became an overplayed drag song. I with Hustlebaby, just have to reverse the order so Young Hearts... is number one and Wake Up Tomorrow is number two.
For some pre-disco Candi, check out I'm Just a Prisoner, her mid to late '60's lp. This is Candi at her roots, the Alabama girl singing sweet blues and soul.

"Nights On Broadway"/Candi Staton, only 3:30 in my records, no extended version until now!
Give a chance to "Listen To The Music"/Candi Staton, 4:25, disco !!!, Do you remember this The Doobie Brothers' song (1972) ?
.
I can't believe that I never posted in this thread years back. Now it goes like this. "When You Wake Up Tomorrow" then "Young Hearts Run Free" when I play the first one to much.... then visa versa..
choosing between these songs is like choosing between "From East To West" or "Souvenirs"
it's hard!!!!
