I know a lot of people who really hate that record too....for me I really hate Stayin Alive - Bee Gees, where a lot of people consider this the 'ultimate' Disco track.
Even though you might get some boos~!!
admit what song you hate that most people think is fabulous...
mine is "FunkyTown".Hated it. wach out for flying bottles and rocks![]()

Get On Up Saturday 19th May 11pm till late - a Night of Underground Disco in London! £5 on the door
I'm with you on the Funky Town thing Dayna, but I think I'm gonna upset people by saying I just don't like Eurodisco - Ceronne, Boris Midney, Alec etc. It just leaves me cold. Hey but each to his own eh?
FunkyTown was on my list too. I detested it at the time though the girl I dated loved it. Now I'm ok with it more for nostalgia and memories of the fun associated with the song![]()
The other song I hate and still do is "Ring My Bell." Simply annoying.
Find them and destroy them!
COCOMOTION by EL Coco (Paul I couldn't resist)
"c'mon let's do the co-co-mo-o-tion...doot doot doot / doot doot doot/ doot- doot- doot...doot doot" :icon_rolleyes::icon_evil::icon_razz:
No thanks. I just think I'm gonna barf..... :icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen:

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."

Y.M.C.A and Macho Man
I'm all for happy disco, but these 2.....:icon_lol:

"The Problem is....Choice."
Most of the usual obligatory commercial disco tracks dumped upon attendants at most mainstream "disco" parties intended for music laymen:
High Energy - Evelyn Thomas
So Many Men, So Little Time - Miquel Brown
Hit and Run Lover - Carol Jiani
Hot Shot - Karen Young
etc...
...Boogie Boogie Boogie Boogaaaaaay.....
Funkytown comes first for me too.
Disco Duck is nothing to listen out loud in a car on a red light.
The local radios and the compilation CDs finally got me to hate Celebration from Kool & The Gang.
Brainstorm - Lovin' Is Really My Game
Not especially bad or anything, but this one's just meh...whatever..
1. Earth, Wind and Fire: September - Everyone liked and still likes this apart from me. The memories aren't nice: an epic sweep of a horde of dancers wearing Lacoste shirts and sensible shoes took on the floor, and you just knew the next track would be I Will Survive.
Where do I begin?????
I've just joined my barfing brother Marky with El Coco - Cocomotion and my compatriot Kim 58 had me agreeing with Costandinos, Midney, Cerrone et al, but there's an awful lot more worse Eurodisco than them.
I've also come to the conclusion that probably 99% of all Italo Disco tracks just don't float my boat and I hate 'em (they are mostly sooo fawkin' LAME, especially the vocals).
However, two tracks that I hate with a passion are
Loose Joints - Is It All Over My Face and
Taana Gardner - Heartbeat
The first one 'cos it was sooo loved by the hipsters, but was never anything other than pure tripe and the latter 'cos of her ultra twee voice, the INCREDIBLY DISJOINTED rhythm track and the fact that Larry Levan supposedly took sooo long to get the mix he was happy with and it still sounded shite! He shouldn't have bothered.
I can still listen to Funkytown, Celebration and a myriad other giant hits, although I don't necessarily go searching for 'em to play.

I know I'll get static for this, but here is one that
I grew tired of very quickly:
"Gloria"/Laura Branigan
Thom
!st one that came to mind is the popular, classic, God awful Ms. Donna Summers......."Heaven Knows". I shot the finger at the DJ once when he started that one when i was on the Dance Floor. He smiled at me though.![]()
I still like Funkytown and celebration. They suffered the same fate as the spinners working my way back to you... overplayed to the max.
There were ways to keep playing them but keep them somewhat fresh....
The song that used to drive me nuts was 'ring my bell'. My little sister would not go to sleep without playing that song over and over and over... ugh...:icon_lol:
...ya gotta beat the street......
UGHHHHH!!! David Naughton's Makin it!!! It's not Disco!!!!When our local DJ plays it during his 11pm-1am "mainstream set" everyone turns and looks at me just to get a rise at my sour puss facial expression.:icon_mad:
Disco Lives in L.A!!!
Guys, girls, you have to do better than that! There ain't 1 song mentioned in this thread that get the thumbs down from me :icon_lol:
Like 'em all, like 'em all!!!!
