    Remixing the Classics!!

Was wondering earlier today if any of the HI-NRG/Eurobeat classics of the 80`s would work on todays dancefloors if they got a new remix treatment?
EARTHQUAKE by THE FLIRTATIONS has just been given a makeover and is due for release shortly...
    Any other suggestions... ??

Heya matey (thanks for the flowers)

If Felix Da Housecat can sample Bobby O, anything's possible!

It worked back in 1993, when Jam & Spoon remixed FGTH - Relax and with the Plump DJ's & Faithless remixing I Feel Love, Hi-nrg has of course that beat which works.....................still!

I'd love someone to get hold of On The Grid and really pump it up, adding of course a massive breakdown.

For me Neil, any re-working / remixing would have to be on tracks with minimal vocal.

    Spys - Roni Griffith
Megatron Man (Imagine this one beefed-up to the max with even more bass!)
    Come Inside - Fancy
    She Has A Way - Bobby O
    Fantasy - Hotline
Love Is The Drug - Roni Griffith

I reckon anything with vocals we grew up with, would just end up sounding cheesy

Have you heard the Jam & Spoon remixes of Relax?

They did two, one of which was actually called The Hi-NRG mix!

In 2004 Dutch producer and DJ Olav Basoski released record by name Samplitude vol.13 on witch you can find song named Disgusted, remix of Kano - It's a war. Also same year remix of Kano - Ikeya seki (Uk re-edit) and remix by Sergio Santiago again Kano - It's a war.

Now that you guys brought up Lime's "On the Grid" as a potential remix subject, I'm kind of liking the idea. Would love to hear someone do it.

I used to play this track over and over off the Lp(it's a little over 3 minutes)
and then I read somewhere that Derek May used to mix this into to his early
Detroit techno sets-it makes total sense.

Have heard the 2007 remake of Earthquake imho its ok wld of been great if it had been the original vocals plus to me it just sounds like a faster cover version of the sensurround mix that ian antony stephens did back in 89/90 will stick with that mix i think
