Soundtrack to a great Night out!

Not sure about the rest of you guys but certain HI-NRG tracks remind me of some great nights out during the 80`s and early 90`s...Certain tracks will remind me of a particular night out at a good club or bar.
I remember meeting up with some friends one saturday night in Manchester and hearing "NEED YOUR PASSION" by SWEET CONNECTION for the first time and thinking "WOW" What an amazing track..
When I ventured onto the Manchester gay scene when I was in my teens (not very long ago..) I remember walking into the Rembrandt pub on Canal Street and hearing tracks such as "Rainstorm" by Eastbound Expressway, "False Alarm" by Marsha Raven and "Angel Eyes" by Lime. At that particular time most of the bars played the HI-NRG/Eurobeat compilation tapes puut together by the local DJs so you got to hear a good selection of classics and new releases...
I had many a good night out in Blackpool at the famous FLAMINGO club and they always played a great selection of HINRG. I recall hitting the dance floor one saturday night and "completely losing it" when they played GLORIA by Laura Brannigan...
    Great memories....

You are so right, Energyguy. I have fond memories of spending the Saturday nights with friends and meeting new people.

New York Club, Munich: Sylvester - Band of Gold, Divine - Love Reaction, Lime - Guilty. That must have been in the summer or September of '83 if my memory serves me right. We used to go to the Oktoberfest first and then ... New York.

C5, Frankfurt: Ashaye - Electricity mixed and mashed up with Dolce Vita by Ryan Paris.

"Hit and Run Lover" was huge as a single track. The DJ mixed sound effects into the track, e.g., the sound of trees that are being cut and then fall over on the floor. Woah!

Star Garden: A cafe in downtown Frankfurt that was frequented during the day. I remember sitting in the shade at a table in front of this cafe/bar on a Sunday afternoon. It was summer and it was hot, and then "Love is on the Rocks" came on... I heard this track for the very first time there. On the following day I rushed to the store to get a copy.

One More time by Bianca was huge at the Connexion. The dj wouldn't play this record until 3 a.m. or later. I think this track was played every Saturday for about a year or so. The punters didn't get tired of this song. When the bubbling and pulsating intro of this track started to play, hords of people rushed to the dancefloor.

It was a great mix indeed, but one couldn't buy it. The dj simply added sound effects (from a sounds a jingle record I believe) to the Hit 'n' Run Lover track. He did a very good job. The C5 was the only place where I heard this "version."

The Caribbean Club in Norwich was the only gay place I went whilst blossoming (!) from a teen to a mid 20 something.

In the beginning it was Megatron Man every Saturday, with Primitive Desire, Male Stripper & Visage - Night Train. (One I always requested)

The Modern Talking / Lorraine McKane / Maria Vidal DJ mash-up was essential fodder for about a year. Listening to it now and it doesn't seem the same without 100 screaming guys and the smell of Poppers!

One record still eludes me tho and I've given up hope of ever tracking it down :(

Funky Town & Pop Muzik DJ only mash up! Now that would take me right back to 1984.
    Dance Till You Drop
