One of the "young Americans" to catch the fancy of US visiting David Bowie during the early days of disco was a young Luther Vandross who sang vocals on the YOUNG AMERICANS album .
The two got to know each other well enough to the degree that they wrote a song together called FASCINATION which appears on that same LP .
Here are some sentiments found within the lyrics from this duo's pairing :
Like when I'm walking
Seems that everywhere I turn
I hope you're waiting for me
I know that people think
That I'm a little crazy
Ohh, better sex is fun
I think I like fascination

Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion

"Young Americans" is one of my favourite albums. It was the first time i ever heard Luther.A couple of years later a good version of "Fascination" came out on Cotillion by Fat Larrys Band.
